In collaboration with The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (TAASC), Mad River Mountain is dedicated to making the joys of snowsports accessible to all. The heart of the adaptive ski program is a large, diverse core of highly-trained volunteer PSIA instructors who are ready to guide guests ages 6 and older in the snowsport of their choice. With our inventory of adaptive equipment and the experience, knowledge and expertise of our volunteers, we are able to offer lessons in all six adaptive disciplines: developmental disability, visual impairment, three-track, four-track, bi-ski, and mono- ski. 

Office Location
The Adaptive Ski Program office is located on the slope side of the administrative building. After registering in the main lodge, participants can make their way to the program office to get fitted for their equipment and meet their instructor.

Instructors and Volunteers
TAASC has 12 Level 1 PSIA Certified Adaptive Alpine Ski Instructors 3 Level II Instructors and over 100 volunteers that dedicate their time and energy into teaching individuals with disabilities how to ski.

Registration
Registration is mandatory for all adaptive lessons. All registration is done through TAASC by calling 614-293-4963 or pre-register on-line.

Cost
$35 / 2 ½ hour lesson
$50 / 5 hour lesson
$75 for 4 – 2 ½ hour lessons*
$150 for 8 – 2 ½ hour lessons*
$300 for 16 – 2 ½ hour lessons*
(*this available to TAASC members only and can be used at all 3 ski resorts.)
All payment for adaptive ski lessons is to be made to TAASC.
Cost includes: equipment, private instruction and lift pass.

Lesson Dates
TAASC will provide 2 sessions (9:30-12 PM & 1-3:30 PM*) every Saturday from January 9th through the end of the ski season in March. There will also be a Thrusday evening session (6:30-8:30 PM) starting January 14th. Skiers wanting week day lessons must pre-register 1 week prior to the desired lesson date.
* We ask that participants arrive at Mad River at least ½ hour before their lesson in order to get fitted into their equipment.

Equipment Rental
Only members of TAASC have the ability to rent adaptive ski equipment. All individuals wanting to rent equipment must be able to demonstrate the ability to independently use equipment before being able to rent. A refundable deposit in the amount of $100 is required for all rentals. Actual equipment rental fees vary depending on type and brand of equipment being rented. Contact TAASC for more details.
